Gigi Pritzker Protects Ender’s Deep Character
In a recent New York Time’s article featuring Ender’s Game producer, Gigi Pritzker, we were clued in on a number of interesting Ender’s Game tidbits. No doubt most of this budget will be spent on post-production special effects.
The article outlines OddLot’s smart move to snap up the rights to the Ender’s Game film. “‘They’re all running into it, not away from it,’ Mr. Nathanson [copresident of OddLot] said of OddLot’s decision to double its film count to at least three or four a year, and to dig deeper into the ‘Ender’s Game’ business, if the movie meets its goals.” What exactly these goals are is not mentioned in the article.
Fans of Ender’s Game will be pleased to hear that Pritzker “[sought to preserve] the depth of the lead character [Ender Wiggin].” She also thinks that the movie-going audience is finally ready for a film like Ender’s Game. “‘I think ‘Hunger Games’ cracked the code,'” Pritzker says.
