DAY 1

AOL Interview with Moises Arias: Bonzo’s Shaved Head

Head shaved on last day of filming

In a recent interview with AOL, Moises Arias, who plays Bonzo Madrid, discusses his upcoming film, ‘Kings of Summer’, his career, and the transition from Disney child star to actor.

He mentions Ender’s Game briefly in a clip about his haircut for ‘Kings of Summer’.

“Right before this film, I was doing Ender’s Game and they shaved my head on the last day of shooting, which led to that weird haircut in [Kings of Summer].”

What do you think this means? Does he shave his head in anger and preparation for the fight with Ender? Do the Battle School medics cut his hair in an attempt to treat his injury?

With the previous news on the “different flavor” of Bonzo’s character in the movie, any piece of information regarding the character could shed new light.

Watch the full interview from AOL here.

The ‘Ender’s Game’ film will be released in U.S. theaters on November 1, 2013.

Moises Arias Says Bonzo Won’t Be What Fans Are Expecting

moises ariasA Bonzo of a different flavor

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Moises Arias spoke a little bit about his role as Bonzo Madrid in ‘Ender’s Game’. He says,

“I do believe that I’m going to be very different from what people were predicting, but I think it’s going to be a different flavor to what Bonzo is. I’m just happy that I got the opportunity.”

Tell us, based on Moises Arias’s comment, how do you think Bonzo will be portrayed on the big screen?

The ‘Ender’s Game’ film will be released in U.S. theaters on November 1, 2013.

Mysterious Website Emerges: StopTheFormics.net

Yesterday, someone purchased StoptheFormics.net, a URL described in ‘Earth Afire’ by Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston. In ‘Earth Afire’, the Moblie Operations Police set up this website as a way to inform the public about the formics and the first invasion. The text and comments on this website match the text from ‘Earth Afire’, and if you try to use the contact form will get the same automated response as described by the book.

We’ve asked, and this website is not associated with any official ‘Ender’s Game’ entities, such as Tor Books or Summit Entertainment.

Aaron Johnston Talks Co-Authoring with Orson Scott Card

AaronJohnstonPic.jpg“We fans can be picky”

Aaron W. Johnston has a new essay for Orbit Books detailing his experience co-authoring with the First Formic War Trilogy with Orson Scott Card. He talks a little bit about his personal relationship with Card and how he’s a huge ‘Ender’s Game’ fan.

Johnston says, “We fans can be a prickly lot.” He adds that he wanted the First Formic War Trilogy to feel like an Orson Scott Card novel and describes his method for echoing Card’s voice. “Only OSC can write like OSC, after all. But I felt as if we owed it to fans to provide a new and exciting adventure story that also felt like a member of the Ender universe”
