Asa Butterfield Answers Questions About What Comes After Hugo
CinemaBlend has a nice interview with Asa Butterfield, where he talks about how he gets into character, his studies, what he does off set and more. Towards the end of the interview he answers questions about his possible role in the Ender’s Game movie. You can read the transcript of this part of the interview below:
Q: And do you know what you’re going to do next? Like, do you get sent scripts? Do you…?
A: No I get sent lots of scripts. There’s uh well one I’m quite excited about, but…
Q: Is that Ender’s Game?
A: It is Ender’s Game (with a smile), but nothing’s confirmed.
Q: Yeah, that’s- that’s what I heard. But I mean that- like that’s if it were to work out that’s another huge you-in-the-middle-of-everything. Like, are you up for another challenge that big? Like, same as Hugo?
A: Yeah I reckon it’ll be great fun if I – if it all worked out.
Q: Yeah, and there’s no intimidation factor of having to lead a whole movie?
A: No, I’m use to leading films now. I’ve been in so many lead roles…
Q: Yeah, how do you… is that just coincidence or do you…?
A: I guess, I’m not sure. You’ll have to ask all the directors, I don’t know what what they see in me.
He’s so sweet and humble! You can watch the whole interview with Asa Butterfield below; the chat about Ender’s Game begins in the last quarter of the video. Do you think it’s looking like he’ll accept?
